Day One

Thought I should start a blog, it has been something I have been thinking of doing for a while and have now decided it is time, it will likely be a daily blog with various thoughts, interesting points and of course some poker talk.. I woke up today and the first thing I thought was “oh god I hope today is better” you see, poker has been, well pretty bad this week, admittedly I did win almost 9k last month so I cant be too hard up which is true but so far this month its just been one joke after another.

FML Of The Day: ( for those of you who don’t know an “FML” is a funny story that has happened to someone which was caused by unfortunate circumstances thus causing them to say “ fuck my life”)

More about poker later, watched the Everton/Spurs game which started a little dull but by the time the full time whistle was blown I had witnessed quiet a contest, for all their injury problems Everton kept going and while they are still no doubt in trouble I can’t see them not recovering and easily avoiding relegation. Second half had everything, goals, bookings, hard challenges AND a rare treat which was Defoe missing a penalty in the 92nd minute!!! Just like to say right here WPWPWPWPW Man City, finally did something right by taking points of Chelsea.

Poker…. Today has been nothing short of pathetic, I only played for an hour and was hoping to grind out a few SNGs around 5pm and then play some of the big Sunday games across Mansion and Betsafe, that dream was quickly squashed though after I had QQ twice all in pre flop on Qxx and got it all in and still managing to loose on the river, oh how I love gutshots, this was quickly followed with 2 bubbles on $50 ten mans JJ-A8... Obviously he hit’s a FH and 66-AK on a 239 flop. Still as I type this I am in the 5500 $10rebuy but don’t have a huge amount of chips so just gonna have to grind it out as I was so used to doing back in the days of Ladbrokes.

If you have never seen the show “ The Mentalist” I urge you to do so, I’m sure you can find torrents for it but you know “don’t” download them as that would be illegal. Its about a guy who uses methods similar to those Derren Brown uses to help the police solve crimes. It has had rave reviews across the pond and has won lots of awards and the cast is pretty amazing as well. I watched the first season sometime last year and found myself going back and watching it again the last couple of weeks. Definitely something to try and catch if your into shows that offer action, suspense, thrills with the odd does of comedy thrown in.

Well I have an update in the 5500 rebuy, had about 3900 and blinds of 100 and 200, a kid from middle position raises to 600 and its folded to me so I re-raise to 2700, leaving myself 1200, the guy calls the 2100 more so I figure he either had AK/AQ or a pair, either of which I’m very happy about when the flop comes T72 rainbow, unless he’s holding TT of course. I obviously move all in for my last 1200ish and he snap calls with K9, great I’m thinking about to double up and actually be able to do something in this tourney, an iniquitous Q on the turn is followed obviously by a King of clubs, WP “lecoudon83” yet another recipient of my bad luck.

Definitely no more poker today, it doesn’t seem to matter what I do I cant catch a break, I’ve had five losing days out of six this month so far and I think previous to this I had maybe 5 losing days in 3 months, unreal. Maybe a few days off will be best for me, will decide once I wake up in the morning. As for the rest of the night I think I will be pushed into watching Sunday night TV… something I can’t remember the last time I did, if it doesn’t force me to gauge my eyes out I will be back tomorrow with another entry.
